Excessive sweating does not happen simply because the weather is too hot. It is a health condition. This is known as hyperhidrosis. At present, more or less 3% of the population could be affected by hyperhidrosis. Even at a very cold temperature, a person with hyperhidrosis can still sweat as much.

Hyperhidrosis can be primary or secondary. The possible causes for primary hyperhidrosis are still unknown. That is why this has been regarded as a hereditary condition. However, secondary hyperhidrosis is attributed to be caused by other medical conditions. Heart diseases, diabetes mellitus and anxiety disorder can cause a trigger. The trigger results to excessive sweating in specific areas. The sweating can occur on the critical areas of the body. This can be especially seen where the sweat glands are highly concentrated, like the hands, feet or the underarms.
